 NBDSF SPORTS FESTIVAL IN MARIEHAMN, ÅLAND, ON 22-27 JUNE 2008
 
 HONOURED SPORTS CLUBS,
 
 With this bulletin, you will receive our latest greetings from Åland.
 
The sports festival is soon under way. The greatest last-moment challenge has been some local arrangements concerning meals. However, we have found a satisfying solution:  All participants will get coupons at the arrival which is to use for lunch and dinner. You will be able to choose between three different restaurants in the city for your meals! Participants that live in schools will also get coupons for breakfast!
 
THE INFORMATION AND EVENTS BUREAU OF THE SPORTS FESTIVAL
 
 The events bureau is located at the facilities of hotel Park Alandia, addr. Norra Esplanadgatan 3. The events bureau will open on 21 June at 12 o'clock and it will be open every day between 22-26 June from 9am until 6pm. There are Sign Language interpreters on duty at the bureau. 
 
As there are appr. 185 participants accommodated at the school, the bureau aims to be on duty at the school, as well, especially during the first festival days between 21-23 June between 10-12 o'clock. 
NB! You can fetch your festival pass, food coupons, festival program, maps etc. from the bureau.
 
THE OPENING AND THE CLOSING OF THE FESTIVAL
 
 The festival will be opened on 22 June at 7pm at Mariehamn market place (=torg) appr. 300 m from the events bureau. No official ceremonies will be held. We hope to see all participants at the opening. 
The closing of the festival will be carried out at the same venue on 26 June at 7pm
 
COOPERATION SEMINAR ON 25 JUNE AT 7PM
 
 There are tentative plans to arrange a cooperation seminar at hotel Park Alandia, where we will discuss the future of the Sports Festival and the present state of Deaf sports - especially from the sports clubs standpoint.
 
 FESTIVAL PROGRAM

AWARD PRESENTATION
 
 If not otherwise informed, the prizes will be given immediately after each event at the sports venues. The top three will also be awarded diplomas. If, in certain events, there are no more than 1-3 participants, the winner will be the only-one to receive a prize. However, diplomas will be awarded to all those with placement 1-3, regardless of the number of the participants.
 
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
 
 No specific transportation has been arranged. There are free-of-charge buses in the city of Mariehamn with various routes. More information available at the events bureau.
 
ARRIVAL IN MARIEHAMN
 
 Especially for participants lodging at the schools, there will be guides helping you from the harbour to the school starting from 4:50am on 21 June.
However, the participants are responsible for their own transportation during the festival.
 
PARTICIPATION FEES
 
 Please remember to take care of your participation fees in good time before your arrival, according to the instructions given earlier this year.
 
SCHOOL ACCOMMODATION 
 
 The location of the school accommodation is at Ålands Vårdinstitut (The Nursing Institute of Åland), address: Neptunigatan 21.
 
SPORTS CENTER IDROTTSPARKEN
 
 Idrottsparken is a sports park where you can, among other things, find the athletics stadium. The distance from the schoolbuildings is about 200 meters.
 
IDROTTSGÅRDEN
 
Here you find the bowling alley. The table tennis venue is located in the same building. Idrottsgården is placed next door to the schoolbuildings.
