NBDSF BULLETIN 3/2005
Distinguished NBDSF member countries,
Warm greetings from Finland! Christmas is getting close soon and the activity year 2005 is getting near its end.
Concerning the NBDSF meeting, which was held in Riga, we are happy to inform you that the production of materials for the NBDSF activities has been completed.
NBDSF BROCHURE AND PLAN OF ACTION
Urban Mesch has prepared a brochure on the NBDSF activities and preliminary plan of action for 2006-2012. Hopefully all member countries have received these materials in question. In case you have not received them for some reason, could you please contact us the soonest possible. In addition, if you need any more brochures and plans of action, please contact us.
We hope that every member country will try to distribute information on the NBDSF activities to the sports authorities, decision makers, sports organisations and other co-operation partners in your own country by using these brochures.
In case you would like to get these materials translated into your own language at your own expense, you can ask Urban Mesch to send you the original CD ROM. Another alternative is that you translate the texts directly from these materials into your own language and send the translated text to Urban Mesch. He could page set your text so that you will receive the brochure following the original model in your own language. We would like to thank Mesch for his great job!
Our intention is to put the brochure and plan of action the soonest possible also in the NBDSF home pages.
We will also inform the boards of CISS and EDSO about these materials.
NBDSF FLAGS, TABLE FLAGS, MEDALS, DIPLOMAS
Estonia has informed us that the materials in question have been produced. We will send them to you by the end of this year. Could you please inform us what your postal address is, where these materials should be sent to? We would like to thank Estonia for carrying out this work!
NBDSF CO-OPERATION MEETING IN BADEN ON 23.8.
We would like to propose that the NBDSF member countries could have a co-operation meeting on 23.8. a day before the EDSO meeting. At this meeting current issues could be discussed. Especially the NBDSF materials and the big event taking place in Åland in 2008.
In case Finland will receive funding for developing the NBDSF activities also for year 2006, NBDSF will cover the extra hotel accommodation for one night and meeting expenses for every delegate. We would appreciate, if you could send us here in the secretariat your views on this planned co-operation meeting the soonest possible.
NBDSF SPORTS FESTIVALS IN ÅLAND IN JULY 2008
By the end of February 2006 every NBDSF member country will receive a questionnaire. In this questionnaire we will chart the most popular sports, which will be included in the sports programme of the Åland sports festival. We hope to receive your reply to these questionnaires by 15.5.2006 at the latest. In Baden we can once more together go through those sports, which will be included in the sports programme in Åland.
Finland and Sweden will together be responsible for the event in Åland.
The registration forms for the sports festivals will be sent to the member countries by the end of October 2006. The final registration should be done 6 months prior to the event. We will send you further information on it.
NBDSF HOME PAGES
We would like you to be active in developing the NBDSF homepages. For instance, you can use these pages to inform about your own events, competition results, plan of action etc. if needed/wanted. pentti.virtanen@skul.org is responsible for these home pages, and this is the address where you can send you materials.
OTHER MATTERS
A joint seminar on equality for women for the NBDSF member countries is planned to be organised at the end of next spring in Stockholm. More information will be sent as soon as the funding and exact dates are clear.
Finland has applied 15.000 € for developing the activities of NBDSF during year 2006. We hope to receive the final decision from the Ministry of Education by the end of January 2006.
WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL THE NBDSF MEMBER COUNTREIS A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR 2006
