The plan of action for 2008-2010, which had been drafted during the workshop, was approved. Furthermore the views for activities up till 2012 were reviewed. The NBDSF plan of action for 2010-2012 will be approved at the next meeting.
7) NBDSF PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY 2007- 2011
By voting Estonia was elected to be the next NBDSF country of presidency. Riina Kuusk was nominated as President and Riin Pollinski as Secretary. Estonia received 8 votes and Latvia 2. The President and Secretary did not vote.
8) OTHER MATTERS
Denmark was elected to act as the country of presidency after Estonia for 2011-2015. Latvia will have the responsibility in 2015-2019.
It was noted that the meeting had proceeded in record time because before the meeting the NBDSF workshop had been held. During the workshop the activities and views for the future of NBDSF were reviewed with the SWOT-analysis. Aaltonen was responsible for chairing the workhop and for the programme.
It was noted that the NBDSF SWOT drafted at the workshop in Lithuania in 2004 is still valid. The drastic decrease of participants in the NBDSF games was added into the weaknesses. For instance, the election of the country of presidency and drafting of the plan of action were also in the agenda of the workshop.
Thanks were given to Finland for promoting of the NBDSF activities so well during the past four years.
9) THE NEXT MEETING
The next NBDSF meeting will be held in Finland on 23.-24.5.2009.
10) CLOSING OF THE MEETING
President Jarmo Järventausta closed the meeting by noting that the workshop and the actual meeting had proceeded extremely well. Järventausta continued by congratulating Denmark also for excellent organisation of the meeting.
